Overall Review: I really like this series. First off, the writing is very good. The character development is good, and I like the world she has created. Jaz Parks is an assassin, working for the CIA, and assigned to protect Vayl, a vampire (and Wraith), who eventually becomes more to her than just a job. In Book 1, they have to stop a vampire-to-human Red Plague. In the second, a set of "dragon armor" is stolen, making the wearer apparently unstoppable, and they have to recover it. In Book 3, she is reunited with her twin brother, also a spec ops guy, on an undercover mission in Tehran to take out the Wizard, a terrorist.

I really like these books, and can't wait until the 4th one (Bitten to Death) comes out on August 12th, 2008.

David Archuleta & Dad: Side Deal Grief for American Idol?



David Archuleta's dad was recently banned from back stage on "American Idol," and a new report claims that the final straw was when the show's execs learned he tried to cut a side deal for his son with one of the program's top advertisers. The National Enquirer is citing sources that claim that dad tried to cut a deal behind the scenes.

The report claims that though it was widely reported that Jeff Archuleta was given the boot because he was pushy, controlling and encouraged his 17-year-old son to change some of the lyrics to a song against the show's producers' requests, sources say "Idol" execs finally had enough after he secretly tried to cut an advertising deal for his son.

"That's the real reason he's been officially banned from anywhere on 'American Idol' except sitting in the audience," said a source close to the show that is cited in the article. According to the source, Jeff Archuleta cornered an ad rep on the set of one of a video shoot and tried to talk him into signing David for an endorsement deal, the report claims.

That was the last straw for producers, who were already fed up with the overbearing stage dad. In addition to banning him from all rehearsals, they refused to allow the older Archuleta on the private jet that flew the final four contestants to Las Vegas for Cirque du Soleil's "Love" show at The Mirage. He wasn't even permitted on the private flight back to Utah to film David's homecoming! Added the source: "No one is sorry to see him go."

I am trying to save an animated name tag I did and instead of saving as green it is saving as brown. I cannot get ImageReady to save it unoptimized so it will be green. Any idea on how to fix this? I checked the tags and didn't find one for this. Any help is appreciated.

I was just thinking ... actually something on twilightmoms.com made me think of this;

What if Bella turns out to be some relation to Edward? Edward being her great-great-cousin, or some such thing like that.
I know it's a far off shot, and there would be someone in her family that would know, but since he was meant to die way back 100 odd years ago, it could still be possible ...

What do you guys think of the possibilities of this happening?

Today is Sunday, and Sunday is Bacon Day at my house. Saturday is pie (meat pie - sort of like pot-pies for you Americans) day, but Saturday is gone and now it is Bacon Day. Rejoice!

Bacon Day is a day of pjs (actually, who am I kidding, pjs are suitable attire for the whole weekend), listening to the radio, and keeping toasty warm with slippers and a a belly full of bacon.
